Walter Henry Planeta, Jr.

Walter Henry Planeta, Jr., age 87, of Fairfield, beloved husband of the late Edith (Nagy) Planeta, passed away peacefully Sunday, March 27, 2022.  Born in Bridgeport, the son of the late Walter H. Planeta, Sr. and Mabel (Weir) Planeta, he had been a Fairfield resident for most of his life.  A graduate of Roger Ludlowe High School, Walter proudly served in the United States Navy during the Korean War.  He worked in I.T. for State National Bank until his retirement. He loved animals of all kinds and actively contributed to various animal related charities.  Survivors include two beloved children, Kimberly Ann Planeta of Norwalk and David Planeta of Fairfield; two cherished grandchildren, Kyle and Dylan Planeta and nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by two sisters, Muriel Wells and Dorothea Willette.  A private graveside service will be held.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the CT Humane Society or the National kidney Foundation.  For information or to offer an online condolence please visit www.SpearFuneralHome.com
