Vanessa Xanthe (Fischbach) Greene

Vanessa Xanthe Greene passed away on September 25, 2021 at Bridgeport Hospital in Bridgeport, CT at the age of 48 after a two year battle with cancer. Born in Dallas, Texas on December 29, 1972, the third of four children, she enjoyed a lively childhood in  Mount Kisco, New York.   She lived her life with courage and perseverance from the day she was born until her passing.  She graduated from Fox Lane High School and Pace University, and enjoyed a successful career of 20 years at Enterprise Holdings where she met her future husband Ken.

She retired from the business industry to enter her dream role as a full-time-mother to Keegan.  

For two years, she courageously fought the devastating disease of cancer and never gave up. Her courageous strength during her battle is an everlasting memory to the many whose lives she touched.  

We are all grateful that her pain and suffering is relieved as she rests in peace now with the Lord.  Her spirit and strength will always be in our hearts and her spirit lives on in all who loved her. 

She is survived by her husband of 20 years Kenneth Greene and her most precious gift and blessing, her 11 year son, Keegan Patrick Greene of Fairfield, CT;  father James Fischbach (Gloria) of Scottsdale, AZ; late mother Susan Fishbach;  her siblings Stefanie Fairless (Jeff) of St. Charles, MO;  Gabrielle Fischbach of Cortlandt Manor, NY;  and Nathaniel Fischbach of Akron, OH.  Her “Greene” Family:  Mother and Father-in-Law Patrick and Rosemary Greene;  sisters-in-law - Regina Plank, Ellen Gilbert (Perry), and Patricia Jestis (Steven);  brothers-in-law - Philip Greene and Patrick Greene (Kollette); and 10 nieces and nephews.   

Friends and family are invited for visitation from 4-7pm Wednesday, September 29, 2021 and 4-7pm Thursday, September 30, 2021 at the Spear-Miller Funeral Home, 39 South Benson Road Fairfield. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, October 1, 2021 at St. Thomas Aquinas Church, 1719 Post Road, Fairfield. Interment will follow at OakLawn Cemetery, 1530 Bronson Road, Fairfield.
