Theodore Koster Iglesias

Theodore Koster Iglesias, 55, passed away on April 30 from an unusually cruel and aggressive form of Leukemia after only feeling unwell for 2 weeks.   He is the son of Adella and Raymond Iglesias but also received great strength from the love of his grandparents Theodore & Vivian Koster.   

Ted was the beloved husband of 29 years to Stephanie D. Miller.  Ted and Stephanie met when they were 24 years old on the internet and shared a love of travel, scuba, food, fast cars, designer shoes and most importantly hockey.   The couple had no children of their own, but Ted loved their furry babies Zorro and the late Santiago & Sneakers immeasurably.  He was extremely close to Stephanie’s parents, the late Arthur and Sonia Miller.  The four of them were truly a happy family unit for many, many years.

Ted was a handsome man with a vivacious laugh, booming voice, and infectious smile.  He enjoyed meeting people all around the world and celebrating life with them.   He was so proud of his upbringing – attending The Taft Private School and New England College and then playing hockey in Canada in “Junior B” league.  He was drafted by the NHL “Calgary Flames” which he was immeasurably proud of but instead chose a career in finance.   He was a truly fearless person – he enjoyed scuba diving with sharks, bungee jumping off bridges and of course skydiving.  

Ted had a zest for life and trying new things, nothing had ever stopped Ted.  He and Stephanie made a life around the world filled with food, wine and friends.

He is survived and remembered with deep love and gratefulness by his wife Stephanie, his doggie Zorro and an enormous amount of very close friends who are our family.

Services will be held at Spear Miller Funeral Home in Fairfield on May 3rd at 5pm then followed by a celebration of his life at their residence at 7pm (333 Unquowa Road – Great Room). In lieu of flowers, please consider a memorial donation in Ted's memory to either the USA Hockey Foundation or to the ASPCA.
