Roxanne Shea Obituary

Shea, Roxanne (Cook) (Piacentini), of Fairfield, passed away suddenly at her home on May 4, 2023. She was predeceased by her father, Richard Cook, her mother, Rose Coret Cook Brangaccio Sheldon, and her step-brother, Michael Brangaccio. She is survived by her two sons and daughter, Joseph (Tiffany) Piacentini, Trisha Pytko, and John Henry Shea, Sr. and his fiance, Elizabeth McDonald, her two grandchildren, Molly Rose Robillard, and John Henry Shea, Jr. She is survived by her brother, Richard Hyder, her sister, Rochelle Kovachi, her niece, Jill Kovachi, and her nephew, Louis Kovachi. She earned her Licensed Practical Nurse certification from Bullard Havens Technical School while working as a single mom and supporting her three children. She was a nurse in nursing homes for almost three decades; NorthBridge Health Care Center (Barnett), Coleman Park (Golden Heights), Pont Point HealthCare Center, and more.

She was an avid gardener, an antique dealer, she loved a great flea market, galavanting with her sister and her niece, a Star Trek fan (Captain Janeway), an Eric Clapton fan, and would put her children in front of the TV to witness every major historical event. She spent the last eleven years caring for her granddaughter. She was generous, caring, independent, and had an open door for everyone. She perfected her recipe for “Sunday sauce” and loved to cook food from all cultures. She never trusted anyone to make her coffee, including her daughter. For most of her life, she had a sign in her kitchen which read, “A woman needs a man like a fish needs a bicycle”.
