Mary Margaret (Hudacheck) King

Mary Margaret King, age 91, of Fairfield, beloved wife of the late Robert D. King, passed away peacefully Wednesday, April 5, 2023 in her home. Born in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the daughter of the late Louis and Agnes Hudachek, she had been a Fairfield resident since 1969. Mary grew up on a working farm in Iowa, and as a young girl would often help co-pilot propeller engine planes with her dad. Mary graduated from Iowa State University and worked in the fashion industry in Washington, DC and New York City. After meeting and marrying her loving husband Robert, she raised her four children. Avid hikers, she and Robert enjoyed their many trips exploring in Yellowstone National Park, Alaska’s Denali National Park, and Gallatin National Forest in Montana among others. She was a parishioner at St. Thomas Aquinas Church for over 50 years. She will be sadly missed by her four beloved children, Kathryn M. Drobish and her husband Rob of Trumbull, Robert T. King of Fairfield, John C. King and his wife Marilyn of Bozeman, Montana, and Barbara A. Janco and her husband Scott formerly of Monroe; five cherished granddaughters, Jenna Gorey, Julia Janco, Alyssa Janco, Michelle Janco and Sady King as well as nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother, Maj. Gen. John Hudachek, US Army (Ret.). Funeral services will be held privately. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Yellowstone Forever Institute, at Yellowstone.org.
