H. Thomas Wendorff

It is always difficult saying goodbye to someone we love and cherish. H. Thomas Wendorff, Jr beloved son of Harold and Frances (Considine) Wendorff, brother of Katherine (Wendorff) McDaniel, was called to God on September 25, 2021. Born November 24, 1936, Tom, a graduate of Fordham University, had found great success in retailing for his entire career. At 36, he became the youngest President of Georg Jensen, and continued mastering his craft with Sheplers, Cartier, and Century 21. Growing up in Queens, NY, his greatest accomplishment was becoming the cherished husband of Marilyn C. (Buysse) Wendorff, father of Marilyn C. (Wendorff) McVeigh (Joseph), Maureen P. (Wendorff) Kaps (Robert S.), H. Thomas Wendorff III (Marie), Eric M. Wendorff(Andrea), and Matthew B. Wendorff(Denise), and ultimately the grandfather of 14 grandchildren including Joey, Michael, and Brian McVeigh, Nicole and Miles Kaps, Harry, Charlie, and Olivia Wendorff, Hannah, Carter, and Owen Wendorff, and Matthew, Lilianna, and Easton Wendorff. Tom proudly served in the Army National Guard where he developed his lifelong belief that to serve others was more important than to serve himself. As a man of great faith and intellect, Tom was very involved in the church, volunteering his time and sharing his gifts with those fortunate to cross his path. Family and friends are invited to celebrate Toms amazing life at a Mass of Christian Burial on Thursday, September 30, 2021, 11 am at St. Anthony of Padua, 149 S Pine Creek Rd, Fairfield, CT 06824. Masks are required to attend. Interment at St. Patrick’s Cemetery 45 Huntington Road Huntington, NY 11743, Friday, October 1, 2021 at 12 pm.  In lieu of flowers, please considering donating to Connecticut Hospice, 100 Double Beach Rd, Branford, CT 06405. Pro Gloria Dei!
