H. Marie (Wyrtzen) Swan

January 18, 1929 ~ January 20, 2022 (age 93) 93 Years Old

H. Swan Obituary

Henrietta Marie Wyrtzen Swan passed away peacefully at home where she lived for over 70 years on January 20.  She was born on January 18, 1929.  She graduated from Vermont Junior College in Montpelier in 1949 after which she was employed by GMAC (General Motors Acceptance Corp.)  

In 1951 she married Robert Stuart Swan and when their children were in school she started working for the Swan Engraving Company where she was employed for 35 years.  In that capacity she assisted her husband in planning yearly conventions for the International Prepress Association of which he was a Lifetime Director. 

In her forties she was elected Regent of the Eunice Dennie Burr Chapter, DAR.  She represented that Organization for 3 years with  a week in Washington DC every year. 

Upon retirement she joined the Fairfield Women’s Golf  League where she served as Treasurer for 4 years. 

She is survived by her son, Stuart and his wife Laurie; her daughter, Heather; 4 Grandchildren, Bryan, Christopher, Meghan (Kiselstein), and Jeffrey and 4 Great Grandchildren, Zadie, Adam, Brayden and Blake.  She was predeceased by her eldest daughter, Robyn (Filippone).  

A graveside service will be held Wednesday, January 26, 2022 at 11 :00 a.m. at Oak Lawn Cemetery, 1530 Bronson Road, Fairfield with the Rev. Dr, Alida Ward officiating.  In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Mrs. Swan may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF), 200 Vesey Street, 28th Floor, New York, NY 10281.  For information please visit www.SpearFuneralHome.com
