Evelyn B. (Pavlow) Niestemski

Evelyn B. Niestemski (Pinky), age 94, of Fairfield, beloved wife of the late Walter Niestemski, passed away peacefully in her home Saturday, November 6, 2021.  Born in Bridgeport, the daughter of the late John and Anna Pavlow, she had been a Fairfield resident since her marriage to Walter in 1947. A graduate of Warren Harding High School, Evelyn was a retiree of Sikorsky Aircraft. She loved animals, especially dogs, and she loved spending time with family. Evelyn lived a full life as a mother, mentor, and grandmother. She will be remembered for her smile which could light up a room. Evelyn will be sadly missed by her five children, Walter S. Niestemski and his wife Reverend Vera, Michael Niestemski and his wife RoseAnn, Barbara Lebo and her husband Gary, Cathy Messina and her long-time companion Steve, Sue Ward and her husband Donny; six cherished grandchildren, Danielle Granoff, Christal Marius and her husband Brian, Michael Turner and his wife Alicia, Nicole Niestemski, Kimberly Roberts and her husband Terry, and Mark Messina and his wife Erica (with twins on the way); seven adored great-grandchildren, Jake Granoff, Kai and Melia Marius, Austin and Sierra Turner, Ryder and Rex Roberts; and several nieces and nephews. Evelyn was predeceased by her grandson Jamie Niestemski, her son-in-law Nick Messina, and her siblings, John Pavlow, Dorothy Ihnat, and Eleanor Maruschak. Funeral services and burial will be private. The entire family would like to thank her caregiver Evelyn, for taking exceptional care of her for the past year.
