Doris Anna (Hunt) Steeves

Doris Anna Steeves, age 90 of Shelton, formerly of Fairfield, beloved wife of Kenneth W. Steeves, passed away peacefully Saturday, March 5, 2022.  Born in Seymour, the daughter of the late Glen and Anna Hunt, she had been a Fairfield resident for most of her life.  She was a graduate of Roger Ludlowe High School and worked for Bryant Electric and as a dental assistant.  Doris was a longtime member of Black Rock Church where she enjoyed participating in the Young at Heart Group.  Her greatest joy was that of a caring and loving wife, mother and grandmother.  In addition to her loving husband of 70 years, Kenneth, she is survived by her beloved son, Kenneth Steeves, Sr. and his wife Susan; two grandchildren, Kenneth Steeves, Jr. and his wife Katherine, and Sarah Taft and her husband, Christopher; two sisters, Betty Pascarella and Pauline Hoyt; five great-grandchildren, Kenneth Steeves, III (Trip), Mason Steeves, Daxton Steeves, Avery Taft and Evan Taft; and several nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by her sister, Nellie Kosma. Friends and family are invited to attend a graveside service on Wednesday, March 9, 2022 at 11:00am at Lawncroft Cemetery, 1740 Black Rock Turnpike, Fairfield.
