Deborah "Debbie" George

Deborah (Debbie) George, age 68, of Milford, wife of the late Gary Corigliano, passed away Friday, October 13, 2023 at Milford Hospital. Born in Bridgeport, the daughter of the late Elmer and Marie (Zampedri) George, she was raised in Fairfield and was a graduate of Roger Ludlowe High School.  In her younger years, Debbie was a professional Roller Skater and won a number of state competitions alongside her cousin.  Debbie loved raising horses and loved taking care of her farm in Newtown.  She was a member of the American Cutting Horse Association.  She enjoyed vegetable gardening and was an amazing cook.  Debbie loved spending time at the beach.  Her greatest role however was that of the family caretaker where she considered herself “Mom” to all her family.  Affectionately referred to as “Gigi” by her grandchildren and grand nieces and nephews, Debbie devoted her entire life to their well-being.  She will be deeply missed by her two beloved children, Jaime Corigliano and her husband Peter Espinosa of Fairfield and Gary Corigliano and his wife Deonna of Monroe; two loving sisters, Donna George of Milford and Denise Furnari and her husband Roberto of Milford; four cherished grandchildren, Niko, Mila, Luca and Jace; nieces and nephews, Jesse, Adam and Jake Tuozzoli, Paige Vichiola and Brandon Logel, who she helped raise, and grandnephews and grandnieces, Christian, Carter, Brody, Joey, Nielz, Nadine, and Natasha. She will be dearly missed by so many, whom she devoted herself to and her loving friend Jay Scott. She was predeceased by her loving brother, John George.  Friends and family may gather to celebrate Debbie’s life on Saturday, October 21, 2023 from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. in the Spear-Miller Funeral Home, 39 South Benson Road, Fairfield.  A service will conclude the gathering at 2:00 p.m. with the Rev. Victor Martin officiating.  Interment will be held privately at Resurrection Cemetery in Newtown.  In lieu of flowers friends may consider a contribution in Debbie’s memory to St. Vincent’s Center for Cancer Care, 2800 Main Street, Bridgeport, CT 06606.
