Daniel Nadeau Obituary

Daniel J. Nadeau, age 65, of Stratford, beloved husband and best friend of Marlene (Francis) Nadeau, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, February 10, 2021.  Born in Bridgeport, the son of the late Alsire and Diane (LeBlanc) Nadeau, he was raised in Fairfield and had been a Stratford resident for the last 30 years.  Daniel was a graduate of Andrew Warde High School.  From the age of 12, he worked in landscaping and, in 1981, co-founded Plantscapes Organics, Inc. of Fairfield alongside his brother Michael Nadeau.  Dan worked hard building and growing his successful business. His work ethic and desire to help anyone was second to none. He would literally give the shirt off his back to help others. He was a surrogate father to many and loved entertaining his large family and circle of friends.  An avid outdoors enthusiast, Dan loved hiking and spending time on his sailboat lovingly named for his bride: Bella Mar and was a member of the Fayerweather Yacht Club. He loved relaxing by his pool with a cocktail while listening to his favorite music.  In addition, to his loving wife of 36 years, Marlene, he will be dearly missed by his three beloved children, Jordan Daniel Nadeau and his wife Ashley, Dr. Brandon Lawrence Nadeau, and Meredith Diane Nadeau; two cherished grandchildren, Adelynn Jade Nadeau and Jaxon Alsire Nadeau; five loving siblings, Sharon Sobon and her husband Mark Gingold, Denise Puskas and her husband Mike, Michael Nadeau and his partner Robin, Dennis and his wife Terry Nadeau, Greg Bukovsky and his wife Katie; his step-mother, Brenda Nadeau; his sister-in-law Eddie Nadeau, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins in Maine and beyond. He was predeceased by in-laws, Elvin Francis, Norma (Nager) Francis, and brother-in-law, Mitchell Francis. A walk-through visitation will be held Saturday, February 20, 2021 from 1-4 p.m. in the Spear-Miller Funeral Home, 39 South Benson Road, Fairfield.  A prayer service will conclude the visitation.  Facemasks and social distancing will be required.  In lieu of flowers, friends may consider a donation in Daniel’s memory to Swim Across the Sound, 2800 Main St., Bridgeport, CT 06606; or Bridgeport Rescue Mission, 1088 Fairfield Ave, Bridgeport CT 06605.  For information or to offer an online condolence please visit www.SpearFuneralHome.com
