Concetta (Lentini) Knorra

Concetta Lentini Knorra, age 90, passed away peacefully in her sleep on May 15, 2022. A resident of Fairfield since 1957, Connie was a much beloved figure in her community. She was born in Bridgeport in December of 1931 to Angelo Lentini and Giulia Battaglia, immigrants from Sicily, and later married Ernest Knorra in 1952. The couple moved to Fairfield to raise their family.

Connie was a loving, energetic and good-humored person who loved to dance. She was a frequent attendee of Fairfield’s outdoor concert program on the town green, where she could be seen dancing the evening away. While she was primarily a homemaker all her life, she worked in the Fairfield School system during the 1970s. Faith in Jesus guided her life, and she was a devout member of Holy Family Church in Fairfield and offered her support for many parish activities. She loved children, those of her own family and those of friends, and enjoyed slipping surreptitious cookies to the many children who loved her. 

Connie was predeceased by her husband Ernest, her daughter Kathy Knorra, her son Bernard Knorra, and her younger brother Samuel Lentini. She is survived by her daughter Lisa Knorra and husband Gregory Foster of Fairfield who cared for her lovingly in her last years of life; her son Daniel Knorra of Austin, Texas; her grandchildren Luke Knorra, Jennifer Mattice and Gage Knorra; her great-grandchildren Liam Mattice and Harrison, Oliver, Sloan, and Murphy Knorra; and many beloved cousins, nieces and nephews, friends and dance partners.

Friends and family are invited to attend a wake of remembrance on Sunday, May 22 from 2:00 to 5:00 pm at Spear Miller Funeral Home at 39 South Benson Road in Fairfield. A Funeral Mass will be held at Holy Family Catholic Church at 700 Old Stratfield Road in Fairfield on Monday, May 23 at 10:00. Interment will be private at Lawncroft Cemetery at 1740 Black Rock Turnpike in Fairfield.
