Alton Lee Craft

ALTON LEE CRAFT - age 93, of Westport, CT, the beloved husband to Ann Craft for 68 years this October, passed away at home on Sunday, October 22, 2023. Raised in Riverdale, New York, Lee graduated from Wesleyan University ’51.  He was a decorated veteran of the Korean War.  Once he returned to the states, he moved from Chicago back to Fairfield with Ann and opened the 200th Howard Johnson hotel in Milford, CT.  After his retirement, he and Ann traveled extensively through Antarctica, Africa, Italy, and more. Lee thoroughly enjoyed a good game of golf and was an avid New York Giants and Mets fan. He enjoyed visiting his grandchildren all over the country and abroad, always cheering them on. While Lee was a man of few words, he will be remembered as a loyal friend with a good wit.  His memory lives on through his wife, Ann, children; Marjorie  D’Elia of Harpwell, Maine, Philip Craft of Easton  and Daniel Craft of Milford, in addition to his grandchildren; Christine, Sarah, Eric, Ryan, Katie Suh, Lily, Rex, Katerina, and Wes, as well as his eight wonderful great grandchildren. May he rest in peace alongside his son Peter Craft. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the United Way. All services will be private.
