Albert Orzechowski Obituary

Albert A. Orzechowski, age 85, of Southport, beloved husband of Maureen L. (Roche) Orzechowski, passed away on April 23, 2023 at home with his wife by his side. Al was born October 16, 1937 in Pawtucket, RI to the late John A. Orzechowski and Rena (Coppolino) Orzechowski Harrington.

In addition to his devoted wife of 51 years, Maureen, he is survived by his loving son, John “Chip” Orzechowski ; his granddaughters, Rachel Daly and her husband Ethan of Drake, CO, and Nicole Orzechowski of Worchester, MA; his sister-in-law, Ann O'Connor of Enfield, CT; as well as several wonderful nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition to his parents, Al is predeceased by his great friend and brother, John M. “Johnny O” Orzechowski. Al and Maureen had many loving and caring lifelong friends with whom they shared many wonderful times and conversations.

Al attended high school in Pawtucket, RI where he had the opportunity to play baseball at McCoy Stadium. He went on to attend the Naval Academy, URI, and Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. He received a BS in Industrial Engineering and an MS in Management Science. He retired from Semi Alloys in New York as Vice President of Manufacturing. Retirement was not for Al, so he went back to work for a security firm at General Electric until the company moved from Fairfield to Massachusetts in 2016.
