Dr. Venkatesh Makkala, age 59, of Weston, CT and Fort Lee, NJ passed away suddenly on July 19th, 2025. He was born on September 28th, 1965 in Guntakal, India to Narasimha and Indira Makkala. A graduate from Gandhi Medical School in India, he completed his medical residency at BronxCare Hospital in New York City where he continued his work as an attending physician for over 25 years.
Venkatesh was a humble, soft-spoken and down to earth man with a soft corner for others and made all those around him feel connected and comforted. In practice as a Doctor, Venkatesh was extremely thorough, hardworking and always willing to help others. He went to great lengths to care for his patients and did any amount of research to ensure he was giving them the best care. He saved countless lives and impacted others with reach far beyond what could be quantified. His contributions to the medical world and community were with no end and will have lasting impressions.
For those who were blessed to know Venkatesh, it was clear he had a passion for fast cars, an eye for fashion and loved quality attire including stylish shoes and watches. His incredible personality shown through in all he did and he will be greatly treasured and missed.
He is survived by his mother Indira, brother Hari and his wife Marty, along with countless loved ones, family, and friends. He was predeceased by his father Narasimha.
Family and friends may visit at the Spear-Miller Funeral Home, 39 South Benson Rd, Fairfield on Thursday, June 26th from 4 – 6 pm and Friday, June 27th from 10 – 12 pm. A religious service will take place after the service on Friday, with a time to be announced.
