Maureen Ann Uzzi

Maureen Ann Uzzi (nee McDermott), 95, of Stratford, Connecticut passed away peacefully on June 9th, 2026 surrounded by her family. She lived a life rooted in faith, family, service, and unwavering devotion to those she loved.

Maureen met the love of her life, Dominick Richard Uzzi, a returning World War II veteran, at a parish dance. Together they built a beautiful life centered on family, faith, and community. Dominick preceded her in death, but their enduring love story remained one of the great blessings of her life.

Maureen devoted herself wholeheartedly to raising her four children Donald (Sally), Peter (Maria), Anthony (Julie), and Lori (Robert). She was a loving and steadfast mother whose guidance, compassion, and strength shaped generations. Her greatest joy came from caring for her family and creating a home filmed with warmth, laughter, and unconditional love.

A deeply spiritual woman, Maureen’s Catholic faith was the foundation of her life. She attended mass daily whenever she was able and faithfully served as a eucharistic minister. She lived her faith not only through prayer but through quiet acts of kindness, generosity, and service to others.

Maureen also found great joy around the bridge table. An avid bridge player, she treasured friendships, comradery, and spirited competition the game brought her over the years.

Above all else, Maureen cherished being a grandmother and great grandmother. She leaves behind 11 beloved grandchildren and 10 treasured great-grandchildren, with two more expected shortly. She delighted in each of their accomplishments, milestones, and everyday moments and the love she poured into her family will continue to be felt for generations to come.

Maureen’s was a life beautifully and fully lived. She taught those around her the importance of faith, family, service, and finding joy in life’s simple blessings. Her legacy lives in the family she adored, the values she instilled, and the countless memories shared by all who had the privilege of knowing and loving her.

She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
