Maryhelen Keller Knuth, age 89, of Fairfield, beloved wife of 70 years to Donald Knuth entered into heaven after a long, lovely life Saturday, October 25, 2025 surrounded by her loving family. Born in Toledo, OH, the daughter of the late Sylvester and Eugenia Grahling Keller, she had been a Fairfield resident for many years. Prior to her marriage, Maryhelen competed nationally in Roller Skate Dancing where she received many awards. She worked for 20 years in sales for the former Eastern Bag and Paper Company and also worked at the Town of Fairfield tennis Center on Old Dam Road. She and Donald played mixed doubles tennis for many years. She played Bridge with her Bridge group for over 50 years and always looked forward to her weekly games with her friends. Maryhelen was an active volunteer for most of her life. She volunteered as a Poll worker on election days for many years, assisted at the Fairfield Public Library, the Parent Teacher Association at her children’s schools, the Lake Hills Association and served as a Eucharistic Minister and weekly collection counter at St. Pius X Church. Above all else, she delighted in time spent with her family. In addition to her loving husband, Donald, she will be sadly missed by her four children, Lynn Hurster and her husband Steve of St. Louis, MO, Dr. Thomas Knuth and his wife Nancy of Grosse Pointe, MI, Sally Knuth of Monroe, and Douglas Knuth and his wife Marci of Reno, NV. She was the beloved grandmother to Megan, Sam, Leeanne, Christine, Alexander, Jacob, Katie, Nicolas, April, Kimberly, Gabrielle, Lance, Hayley, Brock, Aiden and great-grandmother (GGMA) to Lily, Samantha, Dylan, Ellie, Theodore, Hayes and Emma. Maryhelen will also be missed by several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two brothers, James and William Keller and a sister Barbara Dennis.
Friends may greet the family Friday, October 31, 2025 from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. in the Spear-Miller Funeral Home, 39 South Benson Road, Fairfield. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00 a.m. at St. Pius X Church 834 Brookside Drive, Fairfield. Interment will be private.
