Mary A. Coscia

Mary Stallone Coscia, born May 18, 1921, passed away peacefully on July 5, 2026 at a remarkable 105 years old. She was born in Manhattan, New York, subsequently moving to Bronx, New York, then to Stamford CT, and then Fairfield Connecticut for the remainder of her life. She was employed at Burndy Corporation where she met her husband Joseph, who predeceased her in 2000. Later in life she worked at Arthurs Department Store and Angus Steakhouse. She leaves behind three sons, Joseph A. Coscia , Robert Coscia (Camille), Michael Coscia, and daughter-in-law Suzanne Coscia. She was predeceased by her four sisters, Marcia, Angelina, Anita and her identical twin sister Teresa. She also leaves behind four grandchildren, Nicholas Coscia (Carmelina), Christina Chavers (Andrew), Anthony Coscia (Laura), JoAnn Coscia, five great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Mary was known for her “New York style” spitfire personality and her special flare for “words”. She was always the life of a party and was loved by everyone who knew her for her unique personality. She loved all of her family dearly and held her grandchildren dear to her heart. For her years in Fairfield she was surrounded by caring neighbors and family friends who always looked in on her. Mary lived at home until she was 103 years old and passed away from natural causes at Carolton Convalescent Home. We are so very thankful for the loving care she received and Thank You to the Carolton staff.

Calling hours are 3:00 pm – 7:00 pm on Wednesday, July 8, 2026 at Spear-Miller Funeral Home, 39 South Benson Road, Fairfield, CT. Interment will be private.
