Leon Venech

Leon Venech, age 82, of Fairfield, formerly of Boynton Beach, FL and Massapequa Park, NY passed away Sunday, September 7, 2025 surrounded by his family. Born in Brooklyn, NY, he had been a Fairfield resident for the last 6 years.

Leon was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather who enjoyed spending time in the sun, golfing, reading, and being with his grandchildren — especially racing them in the pool and shouting the loudest ‘Bravo!’ after their theater and choir performances — but most of all he loved entertaining his family and friends with jokes and humorous stories. After serving in the U.S. Army, Leon built a long career in the paper and packaging industry as a packaging engineer.

He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years Barbara (White) Venech, son Justin Venech, daughter-in-law Debbie, and his grandchildren Abigail, Madeline, Elizabeth and Andrew. He was predeceased by his father George Venech, mother Doris (Guttentag) Venech and his sister Linda.

A private memorial dinner will be held with his closest family and friends. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to VITAS Hospice, 55 Walls Dr, Suite 203, Fairfield, CT 06824.
