Kenneth W. Steeves

Kenneth W. Steeves, age 97, of Shelton, formerly of Fairfield, beloved husband of the late Doris Anna Steeves, passed away peacefully Thursday, July 30, 2026 at Griffin Hospital. Born in Bridgeport, the son of the late William and Florence (Boyd) Steeves, he had been a Fairfield resident for most of his life. He proudly served in the U.S. Marine Corps immediately following WW II in Asiatic Pacific area. He began his career in sales as a car salesman then owned and operated Steeves Equipment Company in Bridgeport for many years. He was an active member of Black Rock Church where he served as a Trustee, was on the Nominating Committee and a member in the Young at Heart Group. Survivors include his beloved son, Kenneth A. Steeves, Sr. and his wife Susan; two grandchildren Kenneth A. Steeves, Jr. and Sarah A. Taft and her husband Christopher; five great-grandchildren, Kenneth A. Steeves, III (Trip), Mason Steeves, Daxton Steeves, Avery Taft and Evan Taft and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, LeRoy Allen Steeves. Family and friends are invited to attend a graveside service Thursday, August 6, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. at Lawncroft Cemetery, 1740 Black Rock Tpke., Fairfield.
