Kathryn M. Drobish

Kathryn M. Drobish, age 68, of Trumbull, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 1, 2025, following a courageous battle with ALS. Born in Arlington, Texas, to the late Robert D. King and Mary (Hudachek) King, Kathryn was raised in Fairfield and graduated from Roger Ludlowe High School. She married her loving husband, Robert Drobish, in December 2000.

For decades, Kathryn devoted herself to nurturing young minds as a paraprofessional at the Trumbull Early Childhood Education Center (TECEC). Her gentle spirit and radiant warmth created a lasting impact that extended far beyond the classroom—touching students, their grateful families, and colleagues alike.

A woman of vibrant passions, Kathryn found joy in horseback riding—including memorable rides along the beaches of Aruba—where she felt most free. Her creative soul flourished through painting, gardening and home decorating, and she cherished annual trips to Aruba that replenished her joyful spirit. An ardent animal lover, she extended her kindness to all creatures great and small. Yet nothing compared to the love she held for her family.

Kathryn is survived by her loving husband, Rob; her beloved daughter Jenna Gorey (Ryan) of Wethersfield; her brothers Robert T. King of Fairfield and John C. King (Marilyn) of Bozeman, Montana; her sister Barbara Janco (Scott); and her four adored nieces: Julia, Alyssa, Michelle, and Sady.

In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations in Kathryn's memory be made to the ALS Association to support research against this devastating disease. Those who wish to honor Kathryn in another way might plant something beautiful or perform an act of kindness—living reminders of the love she cultivated everywhere she went.
