Joseph “Jay” Galluzzo, age 60, of Fairfield, CT, died peacefully at home in the loving embrace of his devoted family on August 27, 2025, after a courageous 20-month battle with glioblastoma.
Jay was warm, kind, open-hearted, and made friends with everyone he met. His passions included skiing, golf, live music, hiking, travel, and all sports, but above all, he loved his family and friends. Jay loved mountains, music, and living in the moment. If you were having a conversation with Jay — he made you feel like you were the only person in the room.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 28 years, Sarah, and their two children, Domenick and Samantha. He is also survived by a large and loving extended family and a legion of friends. He was a best friend and brother to Beth Luongo and Amy Nakano, and a cherished son to Joann and Domenick Galluzzo. He was “Uncle Jay” to a multitude of nieces and nephews.
Jay built a long and respected career as a Sales Director. Known for his integrity, he defied the typical “sales guy” stereotype—he was trusted, straightforward, and always authentic.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM at St. Pius X Church on Tuesday, September 2, 2025, followed by burial at Oaklawn Cemetery.
Jay was an eternal optimist. He would want to be remembered not with sadness, but with joy. So, when you think of him, remember: “Nothing left to do but smile, smile, smile.”
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Kim’s Hope and Head for the Cure, two organizations dedicated to glioblastoma research.
