Joanne A. (Cece) Gauthier

Joanne A. Gauthier, age 85, of Bridgeport, formerly of Southport, passed away peacefully Saturday, January 8, 2022. Born in Newark, NJ, the daughter of the late Joseph and Agnes Cece, she had been a Southport resident for many years prior to moving to Bridgeport in 1993. Joanne worked for many years for Catholic Charities.  An artist, she loved oil painting, and was a Canary breeder for many years.  Survivors include three beloved  children, Yvonne Gauthier and Marc Petrowski of Bridgeport, Paul Gauthier and his wife Reah of New Jersey and Gabrielle Theissen and her husband Mitch of Phoenixville, PA ;  four cherished grandchildren, Wyatt, Tara Sophia, Adam and Axel; a brother, Joe Cece of Sebastian, FL  She was predeceased by a daughter, Nicole Gauthier and a sister, Helen Cece.  Due to Covid concerns, a private service will be held.  In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 200 Executive Blvd., Suite 4B, Southington, CT 06489.
