Jean Armstrong Ventriglia

Jean Armstrong Ventriglia passed away peacefully at the Masonicare Health Center on Sunday, March 29, 2026, at the age of 101. She was born on February 26, 1925, the daughter of William and Hannah (Garnham) Armstrong. She is survived by her sister Olive “Fay” Pieragostini of Trumbull and many cherished nieces, nephews and dear friends.

She was predeceased by her beloved husband Franco Ventriglia, and her sister Martha Kristiansen.

Jean grew up in Fairfield and married Franco in 1945. They moved to Milan, Italy in 1954 and remained there for two decades, supporting Franco’s operatic career as he performed across Europe. They returned to Fairfield and lived in the home Franco built until moving to Naples, Florida in 1993. In 2003, they returned to CT and moved to Masonicare in Wallingford.

She will be remembered for her kindness, her wisdom, and the way she made people feel seen and valued. Her life was a beautiful example of generosity, resilience, strength and grace. Her legacy lives on in the lives she touched and the love she gave so freely. She will be missed.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, April 9, 2026 at 1:00pm at Our Lady of the Assumption Church, 545 Stratfield Road, Fairfield CT. Interment will be private and there will be no calling hours. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Spear-Miller Funeral Home, 39 South Benson Road, Fairfield.
