James E. Patterson, 60, of Stamford, CT entered into eternal rest on December 11, 2025.
Born in Bridgeport on April 19, 1965 to the late Edward T. and Eunice (Hurd) Patterson, Jim grew up in Fairfield and attended Fairfield Public Schools. He graduated from Technical Careers Institute (TCI) and was certified in auto body repair and auto mechanics. He held multiple ASC certifications and worked for several local auto body shops before opening Small Fleet Maintenance in Stratford. He later became an accredited over the road truck driver and spent the last 20 years as an OTR long distance carrier, using Stamford as his home base. A thoughtful, loving and caring individual, Jim had deep faith and will be remembered as a true friend to all he met.
Jim is survived by his sisters, Margaret (Dr David) Snyder of Hopkinton, NH and Nancy Patterson of Stamford; his brothers, Thomas Patterson of Springfield, VA and Lawrence Patterson of New Haven and former spouse, Laura (Caggiano) Patterson of Trumbull. Additional survivors include nephews Dr Christopher (Dr Lindsey) Snyder of Middleton, WI, Matthew Snyder of Manchester, NH, Daniel Snyder of Ft Worth, TX and Daniel (Brianna) Kowaleski of Cromwell. Nieces, Kristin (Dominick) Pasqua of Fairfield, Amy Patterson of Los Angeles, CA and Kaitlynn Patterson of Potomac, MD. as well as several great nephews and great nieces.
Aside from his parents, Jim was predeceased by his sister-in-law, Kathleen (McGonigle) Patterson, his former inlaws, James and Rejeanne Caggiano and his beloved dogs, Susie, Rocky and Buck.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, December 20th at 10:00am at St Pius X Church, 834 Brookside Dr, Fairfield, CT. Friends may call on Friday, December 19th from 4:00-7:00pm at Spear Miller Funeral Home, 39 South Benson Rd., Fairfield. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Jim's name to a charity of one's choice
