James M. Finnegan

James M. Finnegan, 59, of Milford passed away peacefully surrounded by his family after a valiant battle with cancer. James was the proud father of Joseph P. Finnegan of Stratford. James was born in New Hartford, NY on November 2, 1965 to John H. Finnegan, Jr. and Paula (LeCain) Finnegan.

After graduating from Andrew Warde High School, Jim pursued an education as an artist. His love of art and creating things led him to a long-time career as a graphic artist with The Bargain News, Site Trends, and Hearst Media. In his free time Jim enjoyed drawing, oil painting, golf, and travel with his son and family. But nothing gave him greater joy than being with his family and friends, making them smile and laugh.

In addition to his son and his parents, he is survived by his grandson Grayson A. Finnegan, who gave him much joy as he faced cancer. He is also survived by his sister Deb (Finnegan) Biever and her husband John, and his ex-wife Lisa (Stodolski) Finnegan. He leaves behind many lifelong friends, who were like family to him and stayed by him during his time of need.

Friends and family may visit at the Spear-Miller Funeral Home, 39 South Benson Rd., Fairfield on Wednesday, July 30th, from 4-7PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, July 31st, at 10 AM at St. Pius X Church, 834 Brookside Dr., Fairfield. Interment will follow in Oak Lawn Cemetery, Fairfield.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
