Edith Kaufman, 92, of New York City, passed away peacefully on September 2, 2025 at Mozaic Senior Living, where she was well cared for by her son Mitchell and his wife Carmela. Edith was the devoted wife to the late Harold Kaufman who passed away in 2015. She was born in Brooklyn on March 12, 1933.
Edith worked side by side with her husband at their family business while raising her children. In her free time, she enjoyed chatting with friends, dining out, and watching her favorite show “Blue Bloods.” She also enjoyed many trips abroad with Carmela and Mitchell and their family. She was always quick to make new friends and make everyone feel included in a conversation. Her sense of humor lit up every room she entered. Her greatest joy was to be with her family.
Edith is survived by her children: Mitchell and his wife Carmela of Easton, with whom she recently resided with; her son Robert and his wife Ellen; and her daughter Linda Sztab and her husband Stephen. She also leaves her cherished grandchildren: Lourdes, Maximilian, Joshua, Matthew and Lacey. She also leaves three treasured great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held on Friday September 5, 2025 at 11:00 AM at New Montifiore Cemetery, West Babylon, NY. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Mozaic Senior living, or to the CT Humane Society. May her memory be a blessing.
