Dalia Kempler

Dalia Ruth Kempler, 73, of Westport passed away peacefully on Monday May 25, 2026 surrounded by her family at home. She was the loving wife of the late Sheldon Kempler. Dalia was born December 27, 1952 in Los Angeles to the late Amnon and Lillian Sarkin Barness. A beloved educator, Dalia devoted her professional time to teaching young children at various local preschool programs including, Temple Israel and the Wilton YMCA. In her retirement, she took great joy volunteering at the Missionaries of Charity in Bridgeport CT. Dalia was a life-long practitioner of meditation and was committed to uplifting those around her and lighting the planet. Dalia was a perpetual learner and an avid gardener who loved being surrounded by the beauty of nature.

Dalia brightened the lives of everyone around her. From her beloved family, dear friends, everyday acquaintances to anyone she encountered, her mission was to offer comfort and assistance. She was predeceased by her late husband, Sheldon, who was her soulmate and true partner. In their union, they found the best parts of themselves and each other. Their love continues to be a blessing for their children Andrew and Gordon and grandchildren, Audrey and Sammy. She also leaves her sister Rena Lahav and brother Daniel Barness. In addition to her husband and parents she was predeceased by her beloved brother, Jordan.

A Funeral service will take place on Friday May 29, 2026 at 11:00AM at the Spear-Miller Funeral Home, 39 South Benson Rd., Fairfield, CT. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Norwalk Hospital, 34 Maple St., Norwalk CT 06856.
