In Loving Memory of Christopher Steven James Jennings (1964–2025)

With heavy hearts and deep gratitude for a life well lived, we announce the passing of Christopher Steven James Jennings, who departed this life peacefully on June 21, 2025, at the age of 61.

Chris was a devoted brother, friend, uncle, and proud Masonic brother whose life was marked by unwavering integrity, generosity, and service to others.

Chris served his community faithfully for over 30 years as a mail carrier with the United States Postal Service. With a warm smile, booming laugh, and a dependable presence on his route, he became more than a postal worker—he became a trusted and familiar face, a quiet constant in the neighborhood.

A proud and active member of the Masonic fraternity, Brother Jennings upheld the values of brotherhood, truth, and charity throughout his life. He held several leadership roles in his lodge, mentored younger brothers, and was always the first to volunteer for charitable efforts and community events. His dedication earned him the respect and admiration of Masons across the state and beyond.

Outside of his work and fraternal service, Chris was a man of many passions. He had a deep love for nature, often finding peace on wooded trails or beside a quiet lake. He was a lifelong learner, with a special appreciation for reading, history, and meaningful conversation. An enthusiastic traveler, Chris found joy and inspiration in exploring new places and cultures, believing that every journey was an opportunity to grow. He was also an avid camper, eager to escape into the wilderness with a good book and a well-packed tent. Always taking the long way home, along the backroads, enjoying the drive on his motorcycle.

Chris is survived by his sister, Sarah Verrelli; his brother, Charles Jennings; and his cherished nieces and nephews: Kelly Gontarz, Melanie Deninger, Lee Deninger, Katharine Jennings, Adam Jennings, Joseph Lanni, and Elizabeth Catanella.

A Masonic funeral service and celebration of Chris’s life will be held on Sunday, July 6, 2025, at 10:00 am at Temple Lodge No. 65, 210 Post Road East, in Westport, CT. All who knew and loved Chris are welcome to attend and honor his memory.
