Bradd William Bernstein passed away on October 22, 2026, after a battle with cancer. His children were by his side.
Bradd was a blue-collar cowboy, born a hundred years after his time. A carpenter by trade, an outdoorsman by nature, and a man who lived life on his own terms. He was old-school and steadfast, a man whose values never changed with the times.
Growing up in Fairfield, Connecticut, Bradd was the eldest of five sons born to the late Louis and Rose (Szepessy) Bernstein. He formed remarkable childhood friendships, many of which endured for more than 50 years.
He was strong-willed, fiercely independent, and unmistakably himself.
One thing he knew well: hard and honest work. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved camping, fishing, self-sufficiency, and was at home in the wilderness and on the water. He loved four-wheeling summers and snowmobiling winters.
In 2011, Bradd and his brother Jon (Blake) purchased a property in Grafton, Vermont, a special chapter cultivating a simpler way of life.
Bradd is survived by his son, David, and daughter-in-law, Paige, and their sons, Lou and Mack; his daughter, Claudia, and son-in-law, Cody, and their sons, Waylon and Willie;
Bradd William Bernstein, a nail banger for the books.
Friends and family may gather to celebrate Bradd’s life on Thursday, October 29th from 4-7 p.m. with words of remembrance being offered from 6:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in the Spear-Miller Funeral Home, 39 South Benson Road, Fairfield.
