Barbara M. Lasko

Barbara M Lasko, 93, of Fairfield passed away peacefully on July 24, 2026 surrounded by her family. She was the loving wife of the late Gene Lasko. Barbara was born in Bridgeport, CT August 17, 1932 to the late William and Pauline Smith Scheyd.

Barbara worked as a Registered Nurse for many years prior to her retirement. She enjoyed entertaining her family and close friends. Her love for others was directly proportional to the amount of food she cooked for them. Her door and kitchen were always open to friends and family at any time. A gifted knitter, she made prayer shawls for the sick and Christmas stockings for her grandchildren. She cherished her many adventures with her closest friends. Her love for the Uconn Lady Huskies was second only to her love for her family.

Barbara is the loving mother to: Gene (Lynne) Lasko, Anne (Steven) Barletta, Margaret (Michael) Harrigan, and Mary (David) Campbell. She is the proud Nana of Taylor and Justin Lasko, Lauren, Michael, and Nicholas Barletta, Abby, Will, and Paul Harrigan, Ryan, Allie, Dan, and Sean Campbell, and one great grandchild, Miles Lasko. She leaves behind many loving friends including close family friend Elaine Muldowney. In addition to her parents and husband she was predeceased by her brother Monsignor William Scheyd.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Saturday August 1, 11am at St. Aloysius Church, 21 Cherry Street, New Canann, CT. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the St. John Vianney Trust, c/o Queen of the Clergy 274 Strawberry Hill Ave, Stamford, CT, 06902, in support of the retired priests of the Diocese of Bridgeport.
